In MediaWiki the general special page for all logs is called "Special:Logs" in English. Both parts of its name can be localized, for example "Spécial:Journal" in French. If i only want the block log, i can use the name "Special:Logs/block". Is there any way to get the "block" part localized? In French, "Spécial:Journal/block" works, but i don't think that anything like "Spécial:Journal/blocage" does. Siebrand on translatewiki.net says that it's not possible ( http://translatewiki.net/wiki/Thread:Support/Localizing_log_names ). It would be nice if it would be.
In theory, it would be possible - being able to localise everything, but it gets to an issue of complexity of doing it, versus the benefit gained from it being localised...
It doesn't seem like a big deal when you mix English and French, but mixing different alphabets, especially if RTL is involved, is more complicated. And this would be useful for linking to the logs.
This is about Special:Log specifically, not special pages in general. Changing summary.
