Currently search is fully case sensitive. This can be nice, but often means doing many more searches when you want to catch all the cases, which happens often (e.g. MediaWiki magic words are case insensitive); and it's not very user-friendly if not explained to the user. In an ideal word the user would still be able to do case sensitive searches, e.g. by putting keywords in quotes.
Thanks for reporting this. I'd already found this out myself, too. The Solr schema should be updated to make this work better. Will most probably require reindexing after the schema change. Because of that impact, we will probably wait a few days or weeks before making the actual updates, so we can assess if there need to be more schema updates.

The index rebuild may have failed on TWN: "tradotti" finds "Non tradotti" but not "Tradotti". https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=Special:SearchTranslations&query=tradotti&group=mediawiki&grouppath=mediawiki
Nemo: index has not been rebuilt on twn yet. It is scheduled for the next sprint which starts today.
