Description evaldo 2011-10-18 19:03:55 UTC
I setup a wiki in Portuguese www.constituicao-angola.info.

I am able to search word inside pages and it displays just fine.

The problem starts when:

1. All my pages are titled in CAPITALS
2. If I search for "ARTIGO 90º" the search engine does not find anything and ask me to create the page.
3. If I search for "Artigo" if finds a lot of "artigos" in english articles and im able to choose one of them... than if i copy the title of the page "ARTIGO 90º" and then paste it the search box it will find.
4. Why is the wiki not recognising Artigo 90º or ARTIGO 90º or even artigo 90º?

Kindly Regards,

Bugzilla is not a support forum. Please ask your question on wikitech-l: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikitech-l

I don't think he's using this as a support forum, that looks like it might be a legitimate bug.

From what I can see, that page does not exist. "ARTIGO 90°" does, though, and searching for it works.

Searching for "Artigo" gives me plenty of pages with "Artigo" in the name: http://www.constituicao-angola.info/index.php?title=Especial%3APesquisar&search=Artigo&go=Ir

> 4. Why is the wiki not recognising Artigo 90º or ARTIGO 90º or even artigo 90º?

Because you're using º instead of °
Comment 4 Mark A. Hershberger 2011-10-19 14:12:08 UTC
It looks like you have some pages being created with º and some with ° -- hence the confusion. Searching for "ARTIGO 14º" works.

Dear Mark,

Indeed you are right. I am using the degree sign and not the ordinal sign.

The problem is that the source i took the information from was not correct.
It is really dificult to see the diference "Good Eyes"

I tried to create new pages and it works like a charm.

Thanks for your attention and effort.

Regards,

Evaldo Santos
