Oops, forgot my comment.

CAPTCHA is not preventing what I see at http://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/Special:RecentChanges
Comment 2 Platonides 2012-08-17 11:02:32 UTC
I have added alog of captcha passes and failures.

Could you clarify what that gives us? I'd love to see this fixed.
Comment 4 Platonides 2012-08-18 16:16:49 UTC
Just more data, for investigating how is our captcha performing.

Since I enabled it yesterday, the captchas there have been solved correctly 12 times, given an empty answer 32 times and answered incorrectly 17 (and 5 of those were in Chinese, so not even an attempt to solve/break the captcha).

Only two user creations since I enabled logged: Theoriginalpersuader2012 and Kromine70, and both look human, so it doesn't have information about bot ways to pass our captcha, yet.
Comment 5 Jasper Deng 2012-09-16 05:16:18 UTC
Obviously, the CAPTCHA isn't working - see my local block log on the en.wikipedia beta wiki.

The CAPTCHA is obviously failing to work, as we still must do mass blockage of spambot accounts.
Comment 8 Riley Huntley 2012-12-18 22:59:13 UTC
As stated above "CAPTCHA is obviously failing to work", the only thing that is currently helping to block spam bots are the edit filters (which obviously don't stop every account). This is not a new issue and would be great if someone could fix it.

My question is *where*. URL welcome.
Comment 10 Jasper Deng 2012-12-19 20:20:58 UTC
http://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/Special:RecentChanges

The amount of mass blockage we're having to do is ridiculous.
Comment 11 Andre Klapper 2012-12-19 23:32:43 UTC
Thanks. I see that the amount of spam is a huge burden and tiresome.

CC'ing some Labs folks, hopefully somebody can investigate why the Captcha doesn't work.

AbuseFilter was not properly configured, we now have a central database on the labswiki http://deployment.wikimedia.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/Special:AbuseFilter

Steinsplitter has helped moving some rules to this central repository.
Comment 17 Steinsplitter 2013-07-01 12:10:06 UTC
The Global Abuse filter is working now, problem seems to be resolved.
