Description Steven Walling 2013-08-16 04:46:49 UTC
One of the most commonly-sent emails on Wikimedia projects is the email confirmation (or reconfirmation) message. In MediaWiki, this defaults to a rather lengthy plain text message that is quite ugly and certainly less usable than the nice Echo HTML emails. (It's MediaWiki:Confirmemail body.)

Since HTML is the default users should expect where Echo is deployed, Echo should replace the MediaWiki default email confirmation message with an HTML email. A flyout message might be nice too.

The built-in message is at https://git.wikimedia.org/blob/mediawiki%2Fcore.git/a950a6f0eb0fb37544af18ec86b6b93f40a69427/languages%2Fmessages%2FMessagesEn.php#L4570 , for reference (confirmemail_body).
