Description NicoV 2008-01-22 14:52:59 UTC
Hi,

I first saw this problem in the API (see http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/API:Expanding_templates_and_rendering ), but the problem is also present for Special:ExpandTemplates

* expandtemplates seems to work for only one level of templates (templates inside templates are not expanded)
* expandtemplates doesn't take into account <includeonly> or <noinclude>

For example, on the French Wikipedia, [http://fr.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=expandtemplates&text=%7B%7Be%7D%7D expandtemplates] for [[:fr:Template:e|<nowiki>{{e}}</nowiki>]] gives <nowiki><includeonly>{{exp|e}}</includeonly><noinclude>
{{/Documentation}}
</noinclude></nowiki>
