Description Brion Vibber 2005-07-12 08:48:03 UTC
It would be darn spiffy if search results for image pages included thumbnails.

In particular this is relevant for Wikimedia Commons.
Comment 1 Chris M 2005-11-25 14:20:21 UTC
On commons it would also be very useful if the Image: namespace was included in
the search by default
Comment 2 Brion Vibber 2005-11-25 22:59:08 UTC
The image: namespace actually is in the default search set on Commons. Check your user
preferences if logged in; some accounts may have ended up saved with bad prefs at some
point due to a past bug where the defaults didn't go through properly.

Also, please try to keep separate issues in separate bug reports, so we can track them
more easily.

I too would really like to see this implemented
Comment 4 Brion Vibber 2008-03-11 18:59:05 UTC
Done in r31806.

Testing live on http://test.wikipedia.org/ and http://commons.wikimedia.org/ for a bit before switching all our sites from the LuceneSearch plugin to the MWSearch plugin (which uses MediaWiki's built-in search frontend for more consistency, thus picking up this new change).
