A search option "incategory:" would be immensely helpful. Often you can narrow down what you are looking for to a specific set of pages - a page on some topic, or some community page type. Immensely useful. Examples given on request if not obvious.
incategory: already exists. It has several limitations, though. Most of these limitations are likely documented in other bugs, making this one likely a dupe. From http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Help:Searching&oldid=382451245: incategory: - using the incategory: parameter returns pages in a given category (as long as the pages are directly categorized, and not transcluded through templates). This feature doesn't return pages in subcategories. Note that, for category names that contain a space, either the space must be replaced with an underscore or the category name must be surrounded by double quotes for the search to be effective.
Closing as WORKSFORME as the requested feature is already there. Feel free to REOPEN if you really meant something else.
